Why the name I hear you ask... ok that's crap it's a blog and I'm typing so I can't really hear you obviously but if I could I'd like to think you are asking why the name. It is of course quite possible that you don't actually give a toss!
Anyway back to the name, it's a tribute, homage, shrine .... whatever... to the piece of land situated in the grounds of the only comprehensive school I ever attended (just for 9 months) before I moved out of town with my family for pastures new.
It was (and still is as you can see by the picture below!) a big concrete rectangle walking area with some grass and trees in the middle which the kids, pupils, ruffians etc would walk around and around and around at break times.
That's it really! It wasn't that exciting unless you walked around it the opposite way to the flow of traffic and tried to avoid getting your head kicked in by the big 'youths' for doing it!
For some reason it was the first thing that came into my head during the setting up of this blog when I was asked to input a name!
Hopefully this blog will inform, entertain, pee you off or just prove that I ramble on far too much about nothing!
